ENDORSEMENTS FROM PAST ACADEMY PRESIDENTS and COLLEAGUES
Linda Farr has the Board of Directors experience, leadership skills and servant leadership abilities necessary to be the kind Academy president we need in the 2020s. She is respectful, hard working and able to make tough decisions. She has exhibited broad communication skills as evidenced by her varied discussions with Academy members and the House of Delegates, her Board of Directors interactions, her public policy advocacy experiences and her community nutrition outreach in San Antonio.
She is known to be a people person who values diversity and inclusivity and builds bridges to create paths forward. I have served with Linda in the House of Delegates and on the Board of Directors. She is very interested in the advancement of the profession. She will be a great asset as the next leader of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Professor Emeritus, Auburn University
President, Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, 2015-2016
Linda was the Speaker of the House of Delegates during the time I served as the Delegate from Maryland. I absolutely believe serving in the House of Delegates, and especially on the House Leadership Team, is one of the best places to gain the experience needed to excel as an Academy President. The Speaker also served on the Academy's Board of Directors who led very critical initiatives for our profession. Linda was an excellent Speaker.
She is very passionate, thoughtful, and approachable; all the qualities I would look for in a President-Elect. In 2017, during her time as Speaker, I was asked to serve as chair of a House of Delegates Public Policy Task Force. Since I have a passion for public policy, I was thrilled to see that Linda shares this passion and was incredibly supportive of the work accomplished by the Task Force. It is wonderful to see Presidents support our diverse profession and encourage involvement in areas like public policy. Linda is a great leader and deserves our vote.

Linda Thoennes Farr has well-rounded professional and volunteer experiences that make her an excellent candidate for President-elect of the Academy. She started as a hospital clinical dietitian and was a hospital food service/department director (medical/surgical, physical rehabilitation and mental health) for 16 years and has been the owner of “Nutrition Associates of San Antonio” for the last 24 years (excellent business and marketing shills including social media).
She has been a preceptor for dietetic interns as well as for nutrition and physician assistant students for over 30 years. Her Academy volunteer efforts at the district, state and national level as well as her San Antonio public health and community nutrition volunteerism have resulted in well-honed leadership and advocacy skills. These skills as well as her thoughtfulness, compassion and competence would serve her well as President of the Academy. I whole-heartedly endorse Linda for President-elect.
